Chapter 31

Harry’s POV

“I just want to tell you that I will always be here for you as your best boy friend. Not boyfriend, just boy friend! We’re ten now, so I’m sure some will have crushes on you even though you sneeze a lot. They can’t court you! Because they’ll have to go through me first. Why are you laughing? Are you going to call me ‘skinny’ again? Okay, that’s fine… it’s your birthday anyway. And because it’s your birthday, I want to sing to you…”

I don’t know what it is, but I can’t wipe the smile off my face. I continued to listen to myself sing the song “You’ve Got A Friend.”

After a few minutes, the cassette finished playing. I ejected the tape and set it aside. I needed to leave; Autumn might wake up.

I left her condo with a smile on my face and went home to take a shower. I still had a lot to do later at the coffee shop, and I needed to prepare myself for the seminars that Selene and I had to attend before entering law school.
