Chapter 28

I woke up in my dorm. I turned to my right, and Lulu was sleeping in her bed. I didn’t think I recalled what happened. I was quite sure that I went out of the academy with Abe, and I did see Dad and Uncle. But after that, I couldn’t seem to recall anything else that happened. Was I hit on the head by accident?

I walked out of the room and looked around. Everywhere was quiet.

As I got to the cafeteria door, I wanted to get a glass of water. Instead, I found Gena crying at the side of the kitchen, next to the fridge.

“Hey, girl, are you okay?” I asked, worried, and I went after her.

“Yes, but don’t come any nearer,” Gena warned, but she did not stop crying.

I did as she asked me, but couldn’t help but question why she was crying. Gena angrily got up from sitting on the ground. She brought along a bottle of water with her, and she forced it into my palm, then went away.
