Chapter 34
I told Abe that he was being called down for breakfast. Abe was busy getting dressed and he did not quite give me an answer—he just waved his hand to me.
I turned back to the door, leaving. I almost touched the doorknob when my hand was dragged back, and I was pushed against the wall by Abe. He looked at my face and leaned close to it.
His lips were getting somehow close to mine. I panicked and rashly pushed him away. He fell and was surprised at my behavior.
“Elisabeth, are you fine? Do you not feel well?” he asked and touched my head as he tried to check my temperature.
“I am fine, Abe.” I threw his hand away. “I just feel like whatever happened in the woods shouldn’t have happened, and it can’t happen again,” I said to him.
Abe looked at me. I thought he was going to say something, but he went back into the bathroom after getting his clothes that were on the bed.
At the breakfast table, I was seated at one of the chairs. Mrs. Fatima walked out
