Chapter 47

The following morning, I, Livi, and Lulu had to help Mom in the kitchen. We prepared breakfast for everyone. Abe and Elijah both came down from their rooms. Abe found a chair next to his sister, and Elijah sat next to Livi. I had to sit beside my mom and strangely had to take on the responsibility of Dad. She misses him so much after his sudden demise.

After the quiet breakfast, Lulu followed me to the old photo room in the house. I was missing Dad and wanted to look at some old family pictures alone; however, Lulu didn’t have anything else to do and decided to follow me.

“Whoa! This is good?”

She picked up an old children’s toy and casually turned it on.

The toy car moved and stopped at my big toes.

“Did you play with this while growing up?” She came closer and picked up the toy car again.
