Kieran’s POV
The moment we stepped through the front door, I knew something was wrong. The air felt different—emptier somehow, like a vital piece of the house’s soul had been torn away.
"Daddy!" Luna’s voice cracked with tears as she ran toward us, Finn close behind her. Both children looked terrified, their faces streaked with tears.
"Where’s your mother?" Kai demanded, immediately scanning the room for threats.
"She left," Finn said, his young voice trying to be brave but failing. "She said she had to see someone who could help us."
"When?" Kylan asked, dropping to his knees to pull both children into his arms.
"Right after you left," Luna sobbed. "She was acting funny, and her voice got all weird and scary."
