Chapter 270
Mason’s POV
“He must’ve finished his drink too,” I muttered to myself, a small smile creeping onto my face.
Turning back to Layla, I crouched down and carefully lifted her from the floor. Her body was completely limp, and she didn’t stir as I moved her to the chair by her vanity.
Reaching into the pocket of my apron, I pulled out a length of rope I’d hidden earlier. I worked quickly, tying her hands and feet securely to the chair.
As I tightened the final knot, I stepped back to admire my work. “Sorry, Layla,” I whispered. “It’s nothing personal.”
I glanced out the window again, making sure Logan was still in the same spot. He hadn’t moved. Everything was going according to plan.
Now, I just had to wait.
