Marco’s POV

Andre exhaled, his frustration barely contained. “The doctor who took Layla for a check-up... he’s not a doctor. She’s gone, boss.”

The silence on the other end was deafening. Andre could almost hear the sound of Logan’s jaw tightening, his knuckles cracking as he processed the news.

“What do you mean, gone?” Logan’s tone was deceptively calm, the kind of calm that preceded a storm.

Andre hesitated for only a moment. “She was wheeled out for a supposed scan, but she hasn’t returned. I’ve searched the entire hospital. The staff claims they don’t recognize the man who took her.”

The line crackled, and then Logan’s voice cut through, sharp and lethal. “Wait what? You mean to say that Layla was in the hospital? but you let this happen under your watch?”

Andre flinched at the accusation but kept his composure. “I’m already tracking her down.
