Logan’s POV

“He’s just someone from my past. He’s nothing. He doesn’t mean anything to me.”

But I didn’t believe her. Not for a second. There was something more there, something she wasn’t telling me. And I needed to know what it was.

“Isabella,” I said again, my voice quieter this time, “I need you to tell me the truth. I can’t keep doing this. If there’s something between you and him, you need to tell me now. Before it’s too late.”

I could see the conflict in her eyes, the way she struggled with her words. And that made my stomach twist. What was she hiding? And why couldn’t she just tell me?

I couldn’t breathe. The tension in the air was suffocating, and Logan’s eyes bore into me, demanding the truth. I could feel my heart racing, each beat echoing in my chest like a drum.
