Jason’s POV
The rhythmic sound of the oxygen machine filled the room, its soft hum the only indication of life. The sight of the oxygen mask covering her mouth and nose made my heart ache.
I couldn’t stop the tears from welling up in my eyes. She looked so vulnerable, so far removed from the vibrant, strong woman I knew.
My chest tightened, and I struggled to keep my emotions in check. But it was no use. A single tear escaped, rolling down my cheek as I approached her bedside.
