Layla's POV
When I finally opened my eyes, the sun was already pouring through the curtains, bathing the room in a soft golden glow. I felt groggy, my head heavy, my heart still aching.
I didn’t even realize my phone was still lying next to me on the bed, untouched, unmoved. No missed calls. No messages. Nothing.
I sighed, closing my eyes again, trying to ignore the tightness in my chest. Why did I care so much? Why did it hurt like this? It wasn’t like he was mine. It wasn’t like we were anything more than… what, exactly? What were we?
