I forced myself to smile, my heart breaking as I said, “Just thinking about... how lucky I am to be here with you.”

Her eyes sparkled, her cheeks flushing pink as she looked down, her fingers playing with her napkin. 

“You’re full of surprises tonight, Logan.”

I laughed, the sound hollow even to my own ears. 

“I just want to make you happy.”
