Logan's POV

She looked up at me then, her eyes meeting mine, and my heart stopped. She looked so vulnerable, so open, so trusting.

I didn’t think so. I didn’t plan it. I just moved.

My lips found hers before I could stop myself, soft and warm and sweet. She gasped, her body freezing against mine as her eyes widened in shock. 

I felt her lips part, a piece of popcorn still on her tongue, the buttery taste mixing with her sweetness as I deepened the kiss.

Her body melted against me, her shoulders relaxing as she leaned in, her fingers curling into my shirt. I felt her heartbeat against my chest, fast and unsteady, matching the wild rhythm of my own.

She tasted happiness. Like everything I’d ever wanted but could never have.
