Layla's POV

I took a deep breath, wiping away the tear that threatened to fall. 

You have to trust him, Layla. If you don’t trust him, this relationship is doomed. I reminded myself of this truth. Logan deserved my trust. 

He hadn’t done anything to make me doubt him. Maddie was just being... Maddie. She was cynical about love, always expecting the worst because of her past experiences. 

But Logan wasn’t like the guys she dated. He was different.

I stood up, pacing the room as I tried to shake off the unease. 

“Maddie doesn’t understand,” I muttered. 

“She doesn’t love Logan. She’s just projecting her fears onto me. That’s all this is.”
