Isabella’s POV
I couldn’t stop pacing.
The thoughts in my head refused to settle, swirling around like a storm I couldn’t escape. No matter how much I tried to reason with myself, the same terrifying possibility kept coming back.
That child.
That little boy who looked too much like Logan.
I needed answers. And I needed them now.
Without wasting another second, I grabbed my phone from the nightstand and dialed a number I hadn’t used in a long time. My informant.
It rang twice before a gruff voice answered. “Isabella?”
“I need information,” I said quickly, my voice sharp with urgency. “Now.”
A low chuckle came through the line. “It’s been a while since you called me like this. What’s got you so worked up?”
“I don’t have time for your games,” I snapped. “I need you to look into something for me.”
