Chapter 944

Layla’s POV

Little Jason wasn’t standing beside us.

Jason, unaware of the realization creeping into my mind, kept talking.

"Layla," he called my name this time, as if he had finally given up on me ignoring him. 

"Listen, about last night… I’m sorry."

I kept my gaze on the bracelet, but my body stiffened slightly.

"I was being unnecessarily jealous," Jason continued, his voice softer now. 

"I shouldn’t have reacted that way, and I shouldn’t have made you uncomfortable."

I felt his fingers gently touch my chin, tilting my face up so that I had no choice but to look at him. 

My lips parted slightly, my heartbeat suddenly betraying me. His eyes held sincerity…something I couldn’t ignore.

And then, without meaning to, I smiled.

Jason grinned, knowing immediately that he had been forgiven.

"That’s more like it," he murmured.

I rolled my eyes, trying to act like I wasn’t completely
