Then, before I could stop myself, I pulled Dani into a firm hug.

Dani tensed for half a second before chuckling. “Damn, Boss. I didn’t know you were the hugging type.”

I pulled back, gripping his shoulders. “That was smart. Really smart. And I appreciate it.”

Dani smirked. “I figured you’d say that.”

I ran a hand through my hair, my mind already planning the next steps. 

“First thing tomorrow morning, we’re going to the hospital for the DNA test.”

Dani nodded. “That’s the best move.”
