Maxine's POV

Days turned into an agonizing routine. Each morning, I would wake up to the sound of distant footsteps, hoping it was Tobias coming to rescue me. But it never was. The food they brought was barely enough to keep me alive. At this point, I wanted to die. I was tired, I was living the life of a criminal.

I didn't deserve to be here, this is so unfair but I accepted my mistakes. I'm never going to be disrespectful anymore. If only Liam could give me this last chance. I’ve learned my lessons. This was too much.

Sometimes, the other prisoners noticed how my life was gradually slipping away from me, they tried to give me hope. Sometimes they would rather encourage me to eat my food.

"Here, take some more," the old woman offered, breaking off a piece of bread and handing it to me. It was my food yet I lacked appetite in my hunger.

I shook my head, my eyes filled with emptiness. As tears drop from my eyes. I gestured for her to eat
