As the night wore on, the crowd began to rest until it was the full moon, but Maxine’s group remained lively. I stayed in the dark, watching her every move. Her strength and stability were undeniable, but it only made me more eager to break her spirit. She needed to understand that stubbornness would not be tolerated.
