Chapter 17

Tobias enters the house, enraged and furious. Cirino knows his younger brother's temper is severe and that he might even start throwing things, so the best thing to do is wait for him to calm down before asking him a question.

Surprisingly, Tobias is still upset and refuses to speak to anyone when Thama arrives at the villa; she doesn't stand but proceeds upstairs before anyone notices the sand in her hair.

She is scared of herself. Living in a house full of men and having Vanessa, who is never seen during the day, makes it very easy for her to run into them.

As she walks upstairs, Cirino gives her a sidelong glance and a shake of his head without saying a word to her.

Later, Carter appears, calm as ever, and tris to sit next to Tobias, who rises and pushes him away, but he is stronger than he.

They start shoving each other, and Cirino stands there watching since he can't figure out what's wrong with the two guys, but he senses the battle intensifying.<
