[Flashback continues]

“Would you share my vegetable salad with me?” Ray asked, sitting down on the floor with her favorite veggies all in one plate.

Raven loved eating vegetables, and this time her mom combined not just vegetables but also added some fruits, spices and medicinal herbs like sage and coriander, then veggies like Brussel sprouts, carrots, cucumbers, broccoli and fruits like strawberries and raspberries.

Her mom wasn’t a very good cook, but she tries when it comes to combinations of foods.

“I don’t have meat but I got some veggies, you want some?” she asked as he sat next to her.

“Sure,” he said as Ray turned the salad together with a spoon.

As she did that, he couldn’t help but feel unsafe, there was something making him feel so uncomfortable, but what it was he knew nothing about, he was so hungry that he didn’t notice the concoction he was about to eat.
