Chapter 134
The aroma of freshly brewed coffee mixed with the mouthwatering scent of sizzling bacon, pulled me out of my morning haze as I descended the stairs that led up to my bedroom. Jormun sleepily followed me down the steps.
Andra had outdone herself again, her culinary skills proving far superior to her intimidating presence as our bodyguard. Not that I’d ever tell her that out loud. She liked to think of herself as stoic, and admitting she was a fantastic cook might tarnish her tough-as-nails image.
I padded into the kitchen, running a hand through my tangled hair. The loft was awash in the soft morning light filtering through the windows, giving everything an amber glow. I sat down at the kitchen island, and Jormun swiftly followed.
I watched as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes, before the gray orbs landed on the stack of magazines sitting on the edge of the island. He grabbed them, his eyes quickly scanning the front page before he smirked.
