Chapter 28
"Don't try," Edward said in a low voice. He cleared his throat, scratching the back of his neck lightly. "Maybe you don't like to know his reasons. Don't try to find out."
He didn't look at me while saying that, so he didn't see the look I threw at him. Something that made it very clear that I would never rest until I found out the real reason for that. Until I understood with all the letters that it was not just a sadness that overcame a prodigy boy and stole him from a perfect life. Edward didn't say anything else, he kept driving, watching the horizon. I wondered what he would say when he knew that someday I would also dedicate a good part of my life trying to understand his reasons for giving up.
