Chapter 13

ISABELLA

The car keeps moving and I feel one of the men sitting next to me, he doesn't touch me and doesn't say any words, I can't see anything, I just hear my panting and the noise of the car.

For sure we are going to a not-very-busy place where my body will be found dead by someone in a few days, I am going to die today, and this makes me start praying silently and ask forgiveness to God for any sin I have done in my whole life.

I am very scared, and it makes me think about my mom and dad, I am alone with these dangerous men, and I will die soon because of an unpaid debt.

I try not to think about bad things when I focus on my breathing and my tears, I seem to be inside this car for an eternity, the men are always silent as if they don't want me to know where they are taking me.

I don't know how much time passes but I hear and feel the car being stopped, it stays still for a few minutes and then it starts moving again and I focus on my hearing when the
