Chapter 16

The tree fell on her, but she wasn't even down for more than a microsecond before she was up on her feet.

I sobbed over the loss of my family only to have a long wooden pole impale me. She halted for a brief second with her fangs fully extended, but in the blink of an eye, she regained all of her composure and continued on her way.

She had used a piece of wood to stab herself in the arm, and then she had removed the object without showing any sign of pain or alarm.

"My turn." She let out a snarl before charging.

"Why do you want to end your brother?" As she sped off, the question appeared on her face, along with a sly grin.

I attempted to strike her, but she avoided my blow. I managed to grab her arm just as she attempted to swing at me. She instantly jumped, and despite the fact that she had broken her own arm, she gave me a roundhouse kick to the face. I was thrown off balance for a split second, but I immediately got back on my feet.
