After dinner, Marjorie, Mary, and Erlin went to Naneth’s room to introduce her, while Kate and Jonas remained in the living room and sat by the window with a cup of coffee in each of their hands. “So, when will you graduate?” Kate inquired.

“I’m still in my third year,” Jonas answered.

“Meaning, you are still nineteen years old?” Kate doubted his age because he didn’t look like nineteen, and the way he talked was different from those of nineteen years old.

“No, I’m already twenty.” Kate must have wondered why he was still in his third year when students at his age would normally be graduating students. “I stopped studying for a year,” he added.
