Chapter 41
It's been almost two weeks, and I still haven't spoken to Eli.
That isn't for lack of trying - at least on my part. I've rushed home from school, running from the bus stop, almost every night, to try to catch him for even five minutes, because, almost as soon as he gets home, he's changed and out of the door again. Either that or Wyatt turns up.
I don't trust Wyatt.
He hasn't done anything wrong, exactly... there's just something about him. Something about the way Eli is when he's around. He's cold, and he's distant, and so. un-Eli like.
It's gotten gradually worse over the weeks. The first afternoon Wyatt was here, the time he practically threw me out of Eli's bedroom, Eli was sullen towards me, but he still acted like he saw me, at least. Now, we're like strangers passing by on a platform. He doesn't even look at me.
