The shock on Dahlia's face when she came back home from work did not wear off even though she admitted it within herself that the room looked beautiful. She remembered where the curtains came from. When her neighbor got married and wanted to move out, she had asked Dahlia if she needed the things in her room since the lady could not take them to her rich husband's house. From what Dahlia knew about her neighbor back then,The lady was an orphan who had no parents or relatives around. Dahlia had been genuinely happy for her when the lady told her that she was getting married to someone. She was even happier that the man she was getting married to was a rich man.

Dahlia was not particularly close with the lady for her to know these things, the two of them just have a comfortable friendship that didn't require more commitments than Dahlia could afford at the time. They exchanged pleasantries, helped each other get groceries when either of them had the time to go
