While the world was twirling around Elio and Dahlia as they tried to reach a consensus as regards their staying together, Matteo worked twice as hard with his brother, Jessie to get things in the Cartel from falling apart. Starting from managing the people who worked and ran errands for them to the spies their father had all around the world, to being watchful so that they would not be victims of attacks from the Vermin Cartel like their father was. Even though the only person who does not seem to be bothered by all of these things is Elio, the brothers are committed to making sure he is safe.

They have long accepted that he was not cut out for the kind of life their father had offered them so they took it as their responsibility to ensure that he is not being targeted by the Vermin Cartel. Right from the times, they were younger, their father had given them the responsibility because even till his death, he still considered Elio a feeble-hearted person.
