Chapter 98

Jessie woke up to the sound of someone sobbing a few steps from where he laid in the dark room. His head felt heavy and light at the same time, like he had hit it against some really hard surface. He tried pulling himself to rest his back against the wall and he could literally feel his head falling off his shoulders, one of his hands had to give his head support.

He heard the sobs again, whimpering this time.

“Hello?” his voice echoed in the dimly lit room. “Is anyone here with me?” he called out once again, squinting his eyes to adjust to the darkness which enveloped the room. He got no response, except continued sobs from a corner of the room.

He rested his back on the rough wall, his hand still on his head and tried to recollect what had happened and how he got to be where he was.
