Chapter 12
Riley’s POV
I perched on the edge of my bed and eyed Rowan.
“I’m surprised you sent the wolf after us so soon,” he said, folding his arms as if he’d just solved world hunger. “Considering how much convincing it took to get him into that collar.” He sniffed the air theatrically. “Why does it smell so good in here?”
I arched an eyebrow. “Probably because you’re used to hanging out with men.” Ouch—but hey, a girl’s got to throw a verbal jab now and then. I leaned back, letting the springs of the mattress creak under my weight.
Rowan shrugged like it was totally normal to sniff people’s bedrooms. Meanwhile, Noah—my personal terror with fur—slipped into my tiny closet and emerged dragging a rolling suitcase the size of a small planet in his jaws. His wolf muzzle bobbed proudly.
