Chapter 7
Riley’s POV
“You are completely insane,” I snapped, rifling around for anything heavy enough to fling at Rowan. Nothing. Feels like every object in this kitchen is either decorative or too small to be murderously effective.
Rowan shrugged, fiddling with the edge of the countertop like he hadn’t just told me I could get bitten by a wolf and turned into, well, a wolf. “The wolves are dicks, but they get the human world. If Noah bites you, you’re either one of us or dead—though the dying part is pretty unlikely.”
I crossed my arms, glaring. “You talk about them like they’re totally separate from you.”
“I promise, they’re separate from us.” He hopped onto the counter—those impossibly long legs dangling off the edge—like he owned the place. For a second, I forgot I was mad at him. He was, honestly, kind of drop-dead gorgeous.
Noah—who, at the moment, was a full-grown wolf curled up on the floor—gave a low, emphatic growl.
