Riley’s POV
I caught my own wide-eyed reflection in the rearview mirror again—probably a solid thousandth glance since I rolled out of Silver Hollow proper. My heart was doing its best tap-dance routine, but at least I hadn’t rear-ended anyone. Falling into the dirt road that led out of town felt like escaping a cage, even if it was only Rowan’s jalopy. Thank goodness my abductors were nowhere in sight.
I mashed the gas pedal like I was auditioning for Fast & Furious: Werewolf Edition. Comfort? That sucker sprinted out the window the moment I was snatched, and honestly, I wasn’t sure I’d ever swipe it back. But until some furry canine bit into me with his fangs, I still owned my life. And I intended to squeeze every last drop of badassery out of it.
