Chapter 131

Rose’s POV

Mr. Anderson, who now happens to be my uncle, tried to console me. I have been crying uncontrollably after hearing this news. Seeing him so near makes me feel like I’m connected to my mother.

Although I found peace within this cave and around the three brothers yet, it felt like I was missing something.

So, I decided to go out to get some air and probably sit around the fire. But when I got out, Mr. Anderson and his brothers were already outside eating dry meat and local wine.

When he saw me, he waved, “Over here, Rose.” I looked in their direction and walked to them.

I sat down close to him but not looking at him. He gave me a potion of meat and wine but I rejected the wine and asked for water instead. He brought the water and handed it over to me. “Thank you.” I muttered but there was no hint of joy within me.
