Rose’s POV
I stood in the center of the camp, my eyes locked on General Ham. The air felt heavy, almost choking me. The traitor who had nearly torn our pack apart stood before me, waiting for his fate. Alpha Kanen’s voice still echoed in my ears, his declaration of the death penalty ringing like a final, irreversible judgment. My heart pounded, struggling under the weight of the decision that had just been made.
“No,” I whispered, shaking my head, trying to clear the disbelief clouding my mind. “No, Kanen, you can’t do this.”
Kanen stood tall beside me, his gaze cold and determined. “Rose,” he said firmly, “this is the only way. General Ham has committed crimes that can’t go unpunished. He betrayed us all, and justice demands his life.”
My heart ached at his words. I knew General Ham had done terrible things, but taking his life—it didn’t feel right. Despite everything, I believed in mercy, in giving people a chance to change.
