Alpha Kanen’s POV

Finally we got to a safe spot and I place Rose on the forest ground. I stood over her, my breath coming in ragged gasps as I stared down at Rose’s unconscious body.

The world seemed to slow down, my vision focused on just her, so still, so quiet. My heart hammered in my chest, each beat pounding against the rage rising within me. I could feel the heat in my veins, the anger bubbling up from somewhere deep and dark.

How dare they? How dare that beast harm her? The thought alone sent dangerous sparks through me.

I clenched my fists, trying to steady myself, but the sight of her lying there, defenseless and helplessly, was too much. I knelt beside her, my fingers brushing against her cold cheek.

The cold that was starting to go all over her body between her warmth, that was once so vibrant, started to settle over her was unbearable.

My chest tightened with a suffocating mix of fear and I felt like all my world had crumbled. I
