Alpha Kanen’s POV

The forest was alive with the sounds of battle—snarls, the clash of blades, and the heavy breathing of both man and beast. The ground beneath our feet was torn up from the struggle, roots exposed and dirt kicked into the air. The scent of blood and sweat mixed with the air, creating a thick, suffocating smell.

But there was no time to think about that. No time to focus on anything other than the fight at hand. I swung my blade with all my strength, diving it in the neck of a beast that had attacked me.
