Rose’s POV

The night air was heavy with tension as I woke up, finding myself in Alpha Kanen’s arms. The rough ground beneath us was not any comfortable, but the warmth of his body made it somewhat bearable.

My heart pounded as I realized where I was. How did I end up here? I didn’t remember falling asleep, much less resting in his embrace.

“Kanen,” I whispered, trying not to startle him as I shifted in his arms.
