Rose’s POV
I sat by the fire, my arms crossed tightly against my chest. The night was quiet, but my mind wasn’t.
I couldn’t stop thinking about Alpha Kanen’s decision to stay. It made no sense to me. We were supposed to be moving forward, not sitting here doing nothing.
I glanced over at him, but he didn’t seem bothered. He just stared into the fire, calm and steady, like he hadn’t just thrown our plans out the window. How could he be so relaxed when every minute we wasted was another step away from our goal?
My frustration begins to bubble up every time I thought about the time slipping away. I wanted to shout at him, to demand an explanation, but I knew it wouldn’t change anything. So, I stayed silent, the tension between us thick in the air.
Why was he being so stubborn? What was going on in his mind? I couldn’t understand it, and that only made my anger grow. All I could do was sit there, fuming, feeling the weight of our lost time pressing
