Alpha Kanen’s POV

I folded my fists, wishing I could do more, but I knew the truth. “I’ve tried, Rose. They’re not listening to me either.” I finally told her and I could see the sadness in her eyes.

Her face crumpled with pain, and she grabbed my arm, her grip surprisingly strong. “What about Elise? She was our last hope. Where is she?” Rose asked me as I didn’t want to tell her immediately how I warned no one to follow me.

I waited for a few minutes, not wanting to add to her pain, but I couldn’t lie to her. “She didn’t make it here,” I said quietly.
