Chapter 40
Rose’s POV
“What are you talking about?” I asked as quietly as I could.
I watched as Eliza rose from her seat and made her way towards me, her fingers tapping the desk slightly. She still had the weird smile on her face which made me so uncomfortable.
“Rose…” she drawled.
I tried my best not to show that she unsettled me with the way she called my name. I needed to remember that Eliza fed off fear. She was nothing but a sadist, and I didn’t like her at all.
She took my hands in hers. “You know, I have never cared for the women who stepped into the pack as slaves, but you’re about to be an exception because you walked in here and threatened me for no good reason. I would never forget that.”
Why was she talking as though I was going somewhere? Nothing about this made any sense and I really didn’t wish to think too much about it. It was just so painful to watch all as she released my hand like I had germs.
