Alpha Kanen’s POV

As I stood in the dark cave, the air ceased with tension, the ground suddenly shook beneath me.

The trembling seemed to come from deep within the earth, making the cave walls quiver. I looked around, confused and on edge.

The people who had surrounded me—those strange pack members who didn’t recognize me—had all vanished into the shadows, as if the tremor had driven them into hiding, I felt completely alone.

And then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw her.

A Lady standing in the distance. Her pale skin almost glowed in the dim light, and her wide eyes were fixed on me.

She didn’t say a word, but she raised her hand and waved at me slowly. It wasn’t a friendly wave, though—it was a warning.

She was signaling me to retreat.

I watched as she gestured urgently, using her hands in a kind of sign language.

She pointed at the ground where I stood, then made a sweeping motion as if to tell me to leave that spot
