Chapter 433
Alpha Kanen’s POV
My generals were right in front of me, though they still hadn’t recognized me.
Their heads remained bent low, as if the weight of their past had crushed their spirits. I refused to leave without answers.
I crouched down again, close enough so that my voice wouldn’t carry beyond the cell.
“Generals,” I said, my tone more urgent now. “Please, look at me. I need to know what happened to you.”
For a long moment, nothing happened. They remained motionless, their breaths slow and shallow.
I was starting to think they were too far gone, that they couldn’t hear me at all.
But then, the oldest one—the one who had stirred earlier—slowly lifted his head.
His eyes were sunken, his face tired and covered in dirt, but there was no sign of him recognizing me.
And so I had to help him with his memory.
“It is me your Alpha,” I whispered to him.
“Kanen?” he rasped, his voice weak and hoarse. I was so happy thin
