Chapter 448
Rose’s POV
Joe and I sat in silence for what felt like hours.
The trees still loomed around us, and the breeze brought cold and fear to my skin.
We were trying to figure out a way to escape, but no matter how much we thought about it, nothing made sense.
Every direction felt like a dead end, and the more we moved, the more lost we became.
“I don’t understand this place,” I muttered, rubbing my arms to keep warm. “It’s like we’re trapped.”
Joe was pacing back and forth, frustration clear on his face. “We’ve walked in every direction, but there’s still no way out. It’s as if the woods are playing games with us.”
I nodded, feeling the same unease. The more we stayed here, the more it felt like we were part of some trick.
A cruel one at that. But what was worse was the creeping fear that we might never leave.
Just as I was about to suggest resting again, Joe suddenly stopped pacing.
His body tensed up, and his eyes locke
