Jacklin's POV

The pillar stood tall, like a cruel monument, a place where those who had failed were punished for all to see.

The guards yanked Kanen forward and tied his wrists tightly to the pillar, his back exposed to the crowd.

“Let them see,” I said, turning to the people. “Let them see what happens when their leader fails them.”

Once Kanen was securely tied to the pillar, I stepped back, giving the crowd a full view of their broken Alpha.

I immediately signaled on my other guard’s to bring out Allison, Rebecca and Ray to come see their Alpha in pain.

The silence was thick, but I could feel the fear rippling through the air.

I signaled to one of my soldiers, who stepped forward with a whip in his hand.

The leather cracked loudly as he snapped it in the air, causing the crowd to flinch.

“Punishment and execution,” I said, my voice booming, “for the Alpha who led you to ruin.” I was enjoying this scenario.
