Chapter 32. Regret
POV: Denvereaux Thorne
The night was silent – only the howling of the owl could be heard. The moon was in its half phase, which gave slight light to the entire forest.
He refused to believe that Shea was dead. He knew that she wouldn’t be dead just like that. He wanted to find her – to prove that she was still alive.
However, no matter how much he tried to inculcate those words in his mind, he couldn’t stop thinking about the possibility of that dead woman, who had Shea’s necklace. It totally broke his heart. He stared at the necklace that Tristan gave – the same necklace he made just for Shea.
He firmly closed his eyes as he bit his lower lip – until he could finally taste the steely taste of blood at the corner of his lips.
