Chapter 196. Move On

Lincoln had already slipped into the house, and I was really hoping I wouldn’t run into him again that night; with so many people around, I figured I had a good chance of avoiding him.

I followed Michelle into the crowded house, where a friendly stranger handed me a red cup. The smell of whatever was inside hit me hard, and I almost felt sick. It was not pleasant at all.

I looked up to keep following Michelle, but she had vanished. I set the red cup down on the counter and wandered through the house until I finally spotted her with a group of people. “Hey, Candice!” she called, and as I approached, I noticed Lincoln lounging on the couch, chatting with one of the guys.

I waved to Michelle, letting her know I needed to find the restroom, and she nodded in understanding.

I turned and started my quest for the ladies' room, passing by a guy who was already sprawled out on the floor, clearly out of it.

I shook my head and kept
