I should be in bed right now, getting ready for my Monday classes. Parties like this just aren’t my scene, and I definitely don’t fit in with this crowd.

Michelle is my friend, but honestly, I’m not up for dealing with these kinds of gatherings just to keep her happy. I really should’ve thought twice before tagging along.

The house was still packed, and the music was blaring. I couldn’t spot Lincoln’s ash-grey hair anywhere. Maybe I should just wait for a cab to come by and head home.

As I made my way down the hallway, a drunk guy suddenly approached me and started following me. “Hey there, I haven’t seen you around here before,” he slurred, blocking my path. “What’s your name, beautiful?”

I tried to push him away by pressing my hands against his shoulder, but it didn’t faze him; he just laughed at me.
