I caught a flicker in Kaden's eyes, and for a split second, I thought he was going to lean in and kiss me. But then he let go of my chin, let out a sigh, grabbed the keys from my hand, and quickly unlocked the door behind me.
"Goodnight, Candice," he said, sounding pretty serious. "Get inside now. It's getting pretty late."
I stepped closer and stopped right in front of him. "I don't really know what to think of you anymore," I shot back with a steady look before heading into the house and making my way upstairs to my room. But I noticed that Kaden followed me. A smile touched my lips, but it faded instantly the moment I turned to face him.
"How much have you had to drink, Candice?" he asked as he walked into my room, hands on his hips.
I could see he was trying hard not to get too close, and it made me smile a little. You’re going to fall for me, Kaden. I could feel it.
