It was almost three in the afternoon, and we decided to catch a quick nap in my room. The half-moon was shining brightly in the clear blue sky over Manhattan, and it was such a lovely view. For now, we were just sitting on the window seat, which was surprisingly roomy for a small bed.

"When we see the moon during the day, it’s because it’s positioned just right in the sky and reflecting enough light to shine as brightly, or even brighter, than the sky," I told her.

I glanced at Candice, who had a sweet smile on her face. She was gazing up at the moon, lost in thought. "Even though we’re far from our loved ones, the moon is the same one we all see, no matter where we are."

We sat in silence for a bit, both of us soaking at the moment. "Are you far from your loved ones?" I asked, curious about who she meant.
