Lilly’s POV

Sade’s words didn’t hurt me, but they did spark my curiosity about why she was so intent on getting rid of me. I couldn’t shake the feeling that her disdain was rooted in something deeper. Observing her, I pondered the secrets she concealed and their connection to me.

Why was I such a threat to her?

Was it because of her mother? Or was there something more?

“Sade,” I said, standing my ground. “I’m warning you. I’m not the same person anymore. I’m not going to let you humiliate me.”

“What are you going to do? Hmm?” she taunted. “You’re a weak, pathetic, wolfless she-wolf. You can’t go to your parents for help because you have no one. Shame. It’s such a pity. You poor little orphan girl. You’re nothing. You have nothing. You’ll always be nothing. You won’t even reach omega status.”
